lately....

It seems like I always use the same title to my posts, but I lack a little creativity.... especially when a lot of my blog is just our daily happenings. So, here's what we've been up to lately!

September has already been a crazy month and we are only half way through it. At the beginning of the month we had our RS Welcome Dinner. It was great! It was a lot of work, but it turned out really good. Here's a couple pictures of our tables. I thought they looked super cute and I loved our taffy kebobs!

When I went to upload my pictures from my camera, I found that Will had taken like a hundred pictures. Some were pretty funny and some were actually pretty good. Here's a few he took of Eli eating lunch that I thought were pretty good!

(Love those lips!)
Then of course I had to take a shot of him, he loves to have
goofy pictures of himself taken! (above)

Last but not least, let the fun begin! Eli keeps us on our toes and is always doing something new to impress us. He has started standing up in his crib. Which means a lot of play time instead of sleeping. It also means he can reach the blinds on the windows by his crib.... we're going to have to do some re-arranging! When I went in to get him today, he was standing there with the biggest grin on his face, then was totally offended when I turned around, walked out and went and got the camera. It was pretty funny.
See? He's trying to decide if he should keep crying or if it is pretty funny.....
PS - I love the above picture, check out those teeth! ha! I love 'em.

Oh and the biggest, funnest event of the month has been the visit from my parents, brother, and sister in-law! They were here for a little over a week and we had an awesome time. It was SO much fun, I'm a little sad and homesick since they just left today. That is always the worst part about having company, the day they leave. :( We had lots of laughs and lots of good times. Good memories for sure. Now its back to work, church callings, and the daily to-do's!

all we like to do is dance....

.... and other stuff. A lot of afternoons, when we start going a little stir crazy, we like to turn up the turns and bust a move. Eli even likes to join in on the fun. You can't see it too well in this picture, we need a video, but he's waving his arms around and then turns himself around in circles. He loves the music! Will does too, he has some awesome dance skills.

Then, he gets a little distracted and decides he's rather pull things off the shelf instead of dance and groove to the music.
What mom? I'm cute? Oh ya, I know. I'm just going to sit here looking cute while I pull things off the shelf, k? Sure Eli, go for it.
And then he finds some speck of dirt or crumb and decides to eat it, or chew on it, or just fling it around.
We have cute boys!

my mothering just gets better and better

Some days.... okay most days, I'm not really sure what I am doing as a parent. Poor Will, he's the oldest, so he really gets to suffer through my mistakes, impatience, and craziness. Yesterday was nothing out of the ordinary. I was talking on the phone with my sister. When I got off the phone, Will came upstairs from the basement and very matter-of-factly said "Mom? I know you're going to be frustrated about this, I did something you told me never to do.... I drawed on myself! Sorry!" Not a tear. Not even a sad face. No regret, just stating the facts. When did the tears come? When I told him I was going to take a picture of his permanent bright green sharpie art-work! Here's proof:

He had colored, arms, legs, feet top and bottom, and hands front and back. Here he is hiding, but I got the bottoms on his feet! Ha!

Just pouting and telling me that I can't take his picture! I had to threaten him with going to his room for time-out if he didn't let me take his picture...... see, I'm awesome at this..... here's what I got in return:

Even worse, I was laughing pretty hard while trying to take a picture. You can't see it too well, but if you click on it and make the image larger, you'll see the art work.

Motherhood is exciting.

Oh ya, and later that night when getting ready for bed, after his bath, he noticed his "art-work" had almost washed off and happily said "See mom? It washes off, so next time when I do it, you can't get mad at me!"

One more thing.... do you love his bright yellow outfit? So does he. I love the day it goes in the wash and mysteriously disappears for a week.... hee hee.... my parenting gets better and better doesn't it? I better end this post.
