Christmas Cabin

Like I said in the post before, after Christmas we headed up to the cabin in Warm River. It had just snowed and it was so pretty! Will was trying out his headstand skills while waiting for his turn on the tube, in the snow. He was actually pretty good, I was impressed!

I look so goofy with my goggles on, but here's a picture of me and the boys on the snowmobile. Eli LOVES it. That was all he wanted to do. It was so much fun, other than it was freeeeeeezing. Seriously. The high one day was 3 degrees! Then when you start going on the snowmobile, your face freezes.

 My cute little snowmen!

The sunshine was so pretty and the blue skies and the snow were seriously amazing. It felt good to get out and get some sun, even in the cold weather!
This is Warm River (below). We cross over this river and head up into the forest to get to the cabin. We float down this river in the summer and we fish on this river. It is always so gorgeous. It is the same temperature year round, so in the winter, it always has steam coming off it. It's not necessarily "warm" though! We always see lots of ducks and sometimes wildlife around here.
On New Year's Eve, we headed to the thriving metropolis of Island Park (sarcasm there!). It was great though, we sat by the fire and had pizza at this little restaurant. I know I look scary.... but this was after a day of sledding, snowmobiling, and freezing temperatures. :) After our dinner and our drive, we headed back to the cabin and we watched Nacho Libre. Then we put our kids to bed, and Scott and I fell asleep at 9:45!!! Hahaha, that's my idea of ringing in the New Year! It was such a fun day with our little family together. I will never forget it. We just hung out, laughed, played, and had a fun time together.

Another shot of Warm River. Below, the boys are feeding the ginormous fish! I wish I could get a good picture of the fish because they are seriously amazing. We were feeding them bread and they were fighting over the pieces. They are some of the biggest fish I have ever seen. This is a tradition we do every time we go to the cabin. It is always entertaining, even thought we've done it a million times!

I love my boys!!

We had a great time at the cabin and can't wait to go back! I think Winter time is my most favorite at the cabin. It is so cozy and fun to play in the snow and then warm up by the fire. All the craziness aside, it made for a fun and memorable holiday!

Christmas 2013

We had a very exciting Christmas! The weeks leading up to Christmas were kind of rough. We had the flu go through our whole family. I was sick two days before Christmas, so it kind of messed with our plans, but over all, it was a great holiday! Christmas is such a special time of year, I love it. I love having lots to do, people to see, and lots of fun things planned with my kids. I started thinking that I should do a year long advent, we have so much fun doing little activities, or crafts, or going somewhere! Above and below are pics of the boys playing their new Wii game. Eli is just learning, but he is OBSESSED. It is pretty hilarious to watch the boys play together, they have a lot of fun and play really nicely.... for the most part. Their little faces are always so serious.
On Christmas night, we had my brother and his family over for dinner. We laughed a lot, played games, and of course ate way too much food and treats! Below, another picture of Eli in a trance while playing the Wii. We couldn't even get him to look at us for a picture.
Will was super excited about his new Lego Ninjago set, we had fun putting it together, together. :)
Look at those missing teeth! Again, playing the wii, but at least we can get Will to smile!
My boys love their cousin Denver. They think he is the coolest. Eli always follows him around and wants him to play (and snuggle) all the time. It is fun to have older cousins that my boys can look up to, play with, and have fun with. Plus Scott and I love our teenage nieces and nephews, they are seriously hilarious!

My parents got everyone in my family a Washington DC sweatshirt for Christmas since that's where they served their mission. They are super warm and cozy, we love them! And, even better, my parents just got home last week!

The day after Christmas was really snowy. My boys took full advantage of the warmer weather and played in it for quite a long time. They are always so cute when they are all bundled up! (Above)

The weekend after Christmas we headed to our cabin. It was freezing cold, but so much fun as usual! The boys love to play out in the snow, and this year we bought a snow mobile, so that was definitely the highlight of the trip. It is so beautiful at the cabin, we love it!

More cabin photos to come...... Will loves sledding on the tubes and riding the snow mobile. We have the perfect sledding hill just outside the cabin, it is so fun for the kids and the adults! I laugh so hard when stick our kids on tubes and send them down the hill and then we just stand and watch them bounce around. Such great parents.....
