fall is here!

It has been too long since I've updated the blog! I can't believe how quickly the time passes lately. It makes me a little sad and a little nostalgic thinking about my sweet boys growing up so quickly. We've been taking advantage of this beautiful Indian Summer! The weather has been amazingly warm and the it has felt like a TRUE fall season.... slowly getting cooler, day by day. The boys have loved it. We took a trip up to beautiful Payson Loop and enjoyed the leaves, walking around the pond, and feeling some cooler mountain air.

Our little clan. Don't you love Will's toothless smile? I love it!

Eli was able to start Itty Bitty Football in October. He was in heaven! It made me laugh hysterically every time we went. Picture a bunch of 3-4 year olds running around a gym while trying to "play" football. It was great. He loved it and really started to get the hang of throwing the football.

Speaking of sports..... this is Eli (above) ALL the time. He is running, jumping, climbing, flipping, summersaulting, or flinging himself in all directions at all times all day long. I marvel at the ways he can bend and twist and run and run and run, never getting tired. I love his energy, it adds so much fun and adventure to our family. It has also influenced our more timid Will to branch out and get a little physical. One of their favorite things to do is wrestle and fight. It usually ends up with Will in tears, but it is good for him. We call it "tough time." :) Parents of year over here ya'll!

Every so often we like to pull out our buckets of crafty supplies. Glue, stickers, paper bags, glitter, scissors, and all that jazz. Eli loves to just go at it. He picks one thing and really hones in on it. This time, it was sticking foam letters to a paper bag. Will on the other hand loves to create and spends lots of time and concentration on perfecting several works of art. I love sitting down and doing it with the kids, it is therapeutic and we have a lot of fun and lots of funny conversations!

Most afternoons (above) Eli will crash when we drive to school to pick up Will. So I carry him in and lay him on the couch in hopes that he will wake up and not have too long of a nap. Well, most days, he just stays so cozy that he could sleep forever. So many days this is how he looks for a good two hours! Check out those lips, I love them. I've also seen him roll off the couch more than once! Funny, but sad and kind of a rude awakening!

One of our favorite fall traditions is going to see the witches at Gardener Village. "Witchy Poo" is always the favorite! If you can't tell, she's in the out-house going potty. We went this year with some friends. It was a blast and the weather was perfect!
I love wandering around Gardener Village. It is always so fun and decorated so cute. It was sunny and warm and all the leaves looked so pretty. We also have to stop by the candy shop! This time we bought creepy treats.... gummy brains, tart bats, skeleton heads, and bones. They were tasty!
Oh yes! Don't forget the green skeleton head suckers! I love my boys, we had a lot of fun this day and they are always so cute together.
How did this happen? I feel like just yesterday we were watching Eli learn to crawl and now he is the most energetic three year old I've ever seen! We had our preschool group at our house for his birthday so he got to wear the special birthday crown. He was pretty proud of that and loved showing his friends his birthday balloons.
Per special request, we headed to Kneaders for grilled cheese sandwiches. It was just Eli and I and it was great, we laughed and ate and talked!

After Will got home from school, we headed to Cornbelly's for some more celebration! We've never been to Cornbelly's and we all loved it. I'm already looking forward to going again next year. We had tractor rides, played on the giant pillow, road the wagon, went on the big slide, and did the corn maze.

After Cornbelly's, we went and had burgers at one of our favorite places, JCW's. Yummy! Nothing like a good hamburger and yummy shakes! Then we headed home for Eli to open presents.
It was the cutest thing I have ever seen, it almost brought tears to my eyes. Will gave Eli a Ninja Turtle Motorcycle and Eli was through the roof excited about it. He was so happy and said a big "Thank you Will!" and gave him a huge hug. It was one of those proud mom moments where you can't help but burst with love for your kids.

Eli took little bits of paper, one at a time to get into his gifts. I think we better practice a little bit before Christmas! It has been a wonderful fall. We have been to the cabin (where I took ZERO pictures!) for conference, we had Scott's parents farewell (they are in Finland!) and I started working again! It has been an exciting, busy, and wonderful past few months. Hopefully I won't take so long before I update again! Life is good!
