the great pumpkin

Yesterday we headed to the Ohio country side to find just the right pumpkin. One of Scott's bosses owns a 5 acre farm, where he hosts a Fall celebration every year. It did not disappoint. It had everything from the tractor hay ride, picking our your own pumpkin out of the field, to great food and a big bonfire when it got dark. Our kids loved it. We even got to see the horses in the barn, eat treats, and watch people carve their pumpkins. Don't worry, our pumpkin carving is coming tomorrow for FHE. Get excited.

We had about a 50 minute drive out to the farm, and Will fell asleep on the way. He was totally disoriented when it woke up and was being pretty hilarious. He walked up to some stranger standing at her car because he thought it was me. And he kept telling me over and over that he was just so tired he didn't even think he could LIFT a pumpkin. It was so funny. So, on the hayride, I snapped a picture. Love is awesome hairdo? And his tired eyes? haha, I do!! He was so happy though, I was grateful for the little rest.
Me and Eli on the hayride. Eli wasn't convinced this was a fun thing to do, until he started crawling around the pumpkin patch!
Will on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin.........
He found it!
This is Will's pumpkin. He loved it..... we loved the stem. Will wouldn't let us break it out, so here it is, almost going up Scott's nose. Little bitty pumpkin, tall tall stem. :)
This was Eli's choice for a pumpkin. Good choice E.

Okay, ya, this is fun.

In the end, we found three very good pumpkins. The farm was beautiful. It was a great afternoon too, 70+ degrees outside and sunny. We had a ton of fun.
Here are the boys in front of the bonfire. It was huge, but Will thought it was really cool. We had a great time as a family and it was fun for Scott to get to see people outside of work!
We are going to miss beautiful Ohio, there is really nothing like it. Especially in the Fall.
Okay, so this is a really random picture. It was almost totally dark when I took this and I wanted a picture of the lights on the tent. This was right after I took a picture of the bonfire. The tent was black and white striped and the lights were orang..... it was really cool. So, I snapped it, with my flash on, and when I got home and put it on my computer, this is what happened. Pretty cool. I have no idea how it happened. It think it looks a little vintage..... And I still get to see how awesome the tent looked.

Fall wouldn't be fall without a trip to an apple orchard and pumpkin patch! Was Scott attacking a pumpkin with a saw?
