summertime!

Our Summer has been full of fun, busy and lots of time outside enjoying the sunshine and beautiful Utah Summers. The boys have loved going on "hikes" this year. And it is so great because they are big enough that they can both walk quite a ways. One of our favorites is bridal veil falls, up Provo canyon. It's so pretty, and the path is paved. Plus the boys love to play a little bit in the water. We had a great time playing with friends and having a picnic.

(Below) We got to meet up with a bunch of my friends from our MN days! It was so great to see so many of the amazing friends we made there. It was also fun to see how their families have multiplied! :) There are tons of kids!

More of our hike to bridal veil. Not sure why my pictures are out of order, but here are a couple more of our hike!

We did two weeks of swimming lessons again this summer. We love Ms. Sheryl! The boys are doing great at swimming and absolutely LOVE to be in the water. It makes me so happy, I love that they love it so much!!

(Above) Will and his buddy Luke think they are pretty hot stuff with their green goggles at the pool everyday! They are hilarious. I love Will's little personality he is developing, it's so fun to watch our kids grow up!
One day at swimming lessons Will got stung by a bee right on his lip! He was super distraught about it and doesn't his face just say it all?! Hahaha, it was SO sad, but also kinda funny. His first words were "At least the bee is DEAD!" I love him.

More hiking adventures (above) this time to Dry Creek Trail head in Alpine. One of our favorites!
Summer would not be summer without stopping for a shaved ice on the way to the pool! These boys and their shaved ices. I guess that is what summer is all about!

One night we tried to go see Scott finish his Ragnar race. The canyon was closed due to a semi roll-over so we turned around and went to Cheesecake Factory instead! It has been so much fun having my parents so close!

During the Lehi Round Up the hospital got to be in the parade. So we got to help support Scott and American Fork Hospital and walk and pass out candy during the parade. The boys loved it and had a blast. It was SUPER hot, but we still had a fun time!

After the parade, we went boating. It was perfect. We went with my brother Mark and his family. The boys loved it and even jumped in the water! Maybe next time we can convince Will to try the knee board. Scott got to surf and we had a fun time!

(above) After boating, we went to the Lehi Round Up rodeo! It was Will and Eli's first time at a rodeo and they really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. We got to watch my nephew do a little steer wrestling. I love this picture of my dad and Eli. My dad is a cowboy. Born and raised. I love it when he gets in his cowboy duds!
The 4th of July! We had such a fun weekend celebrating the 4th! We were up in Logan and enjoyed spending lots of time with cousins and family. The boys really liked doing fireworks.... even thought it was only like 4 in the afternoon!

We went to the cruise in and Eli loved seeing the cars, can you tell? Hahaha, he was being a little bit of a turkey for this photo. The cars were really cool and we had a fun time.
Our summer of fun continued with a trip to Lake Powell! We went last year with our friends and were lucky enough to be invited back! Hahaha. Lake Powell is beautiful, blissful, and so much fun. We don't take our kids so it's a party. We boat all day, eat lots of yummy food and treats, play a lot of games, laugh hysterically, and enjoy every minute. One reason I love Lake Powell is because it feels like Scott and I are dating again, hanging out with friends. It's so relaxed and such a blast!
Our friends decided Scott's new nickname is "Gills" since he is such a fish. He was always jumping off something, diving into the water and doing lots of "fishy" things. :) He is a natural swimmer and it is so fun to watch him!
We did lots of wake surfing.... well, Scott did. I'm athletically challenged so I was dragged behind the boat.

The scenery at Lake Powell is breath-taking. One favorite thing we do in Lake Powell is go on a longer boating excursion up in the canyons on Sunday. We take our lunch and go for hours. There is always something amazing to see.

The girls, Me, Amy, Mandy, and Allison

The guys, Lance, Steve, Tyler, and Scott

Look at that water!! This is no filter, and taken with my phone. It was incredible, almost like when we were in the caribean, it's hard to believe water that color really exists. It was by far my most favorite part! Love Lake Powell!!
