cute little tooshy and vacation time

I can't believe how fast the summer is flying by! I found some cute little swim trunks for Eli and I just couldn't resist. They are a little on the snug side, and I love his little tooshy and his muscular legs in them! These boys love going to the pool and we have enjoyed our neighborhood pool to no end! I new swim suit half way through the summer makes it even more exciting! What's not to love.....

Will had his follow up appointment with the surgeon. We are so happy to be done with the tonsil recovery! He is doing great, sleeping better and better. The Dr. was WAY late and we sat in the office for over an hour.... the boys were slightly bored. Thank heavens for my iphone!

More pool shots, enjoying some relaxation in the sun! I love when Will "relaxes" he always puts his hands behind his head like this. Love my boys!!

Last week Scott and I went to Lake Powell with some high school friends of Scott's. We all left our babies at home and had a great vacation! We had so much fun. It was a 5 hour drive for Scott and I and we loved every minute of it. We got to talk, un-interrupted, listen to our choice of music, and we laughed.... A LOT. We had so much fun just on the drive down!
I love Utah's landscape. There is so much variety and it is so fun to be able to just get in your car and drive to different places that look so unique and different from one hour to the next.
Our boys stayed with Krista and they had a great time with their cousins! It is always nice to know your kids are taken care of and having a fun time when you leave them for a vacation!
Lake Powell is beautiful. It was awesome and we loved it. Both Scott and I haven't been to Lake Powell for a really long time and we had both forgotten how awesome it is and how much we love going there! We were afraid we were going to roast from the heat, but it actually wasn't too bad. It rained several times and was overcast a lot. When it was hot and sunny it was so fun to just jump in the lake and cool off!
This is where our houseboat was parked, up a little canyon with these "rolling" cliffs. If you look closely you can see a little white speck, that's Scott's head, he went swimming up the channel.
Then he climbed up the cliffs.....

We had a lot of fun on the boat, skiing and learning to surf. I think Scott is hooked on surfing!

On our last day we went to see some Native American ruins. We hiked up this little hill and saw a dwelling that they used to have. It was awesome, although it made me ask lots of questions that I want to know all the answers to. Like HOW on earth did they get to that spot, why did the live there, what did they do, where were they from..... all that good stuff.

A few of us girls..... Mandy, Nikki, Me, Allison (who was SO brave and 9 months pregnant!)
We had such a blast, it was a great little get away for us! We were very excited to get home and see our boys though. We missed them! The day after we got home was rainy and we played games. Eli loves to get out all our games and "play" them.
While we were gone, Will, Matt, and Zac went with Brian to stay at Brian's family's cabin. They were going to go to the ward father and sons but it was raining so they did the cabin instead. They did some fun hikes and Will had a blast.
Brian even took them on a night walk. Will is still talking about it! What a good uncle. :)

to the cabin we will go

We've had such a fun week! We FINALLY got on the upswing of Will and his tonsillectomy. It was a really rough few days. One morning when we woke up, Will asked to watch a movie, so I thought maybe we should just go to one instead. :) I was trying to think of something low key and not too active that would be fun for him and get him out of the house. We went to see Brave. The boys really liked it, it was a cute movie and I loved the music!

Will had fallen asleep one afternoon so he was up until late one night. I was so happy to see him with a smile on his face... it had been a while! And of course he's playing the wii (addicted!)
Will holding his second cousin - my GREAT niece Maysa

So our vacation started with us heading up to Logan when Scott got off work one afternoon. We spent the night in Logan, hung out with family and then the next morning, we headed up to my sister's house in Idaho. We spent a few days there, lots of chit chatting, working on the farm, holding the babies (both my nieces just had babies), riding the horses and just having lots of fun.

My other cutie pie great niece Rhen

Having some Doritoes - Carver (my great nephew, Rhen's older brother, Eli and Will)

Scott and Eli going for a horse ride..... like the tiny saddle? It was my nieces. :)

Practicing their roping skills at the farm - look out dad!

On Sunday after church, we left my sisters and headed to the cabin. Road tripping is so fun!

Finally there! The boys love to stick their heads out the sunroof while we drive the dirt road to the cabin. It is always so exciting when we arrive at the cabin. This trip, we took my brother Mike and his family and my sister Krista and her family with us.

We had a full moon while we were at the cabin. It was AMAZING, it was so awesome to watch it come up over the trees every night. My picture doesn't do it justice, but I tried! The sunsets were also so pretty while we were there, we love it up there!

We had a blast as usual. It was super fun to spend the Fourth of July at the cabin. My pictures are a little out of order..... but we went to Ashton to watch the fireworks. Eli thought they were great, this was the first time he has really seen them and he loved it!

 Before the fireworks!

So at the cabin, we don't get a whole lot of sleep, so by the end of the trip we get a little wacky.... here's proof: my sister and I are weird! We gave the boys pirate rings and this is what WE did with them..... don't judge!

Let's be honest, it is always blissful when Eli falls asleep in the car!

After we went to the cabin, we spend a couple days at Glenn and Martha's. Will and Eli love being at their house!

We were so excited to get to see Liz! She is here for a couple weeks from Arizona. We were dressed almost identical, same flip flops, almost same shorts, very similar shirts, and we painted our nails the same. I love Liz, she is the little sis I never got to have! She is always so fun to be around and she makes me laugh almost as much as Scott does. ;)

Now back to the cabin and my out of order pictures! :) Our first day at the cabin, we took everyone to Mesa Falls. It is always fun to see them, especially with people who've never seen them before.

 Eli loves cousin Mallory!

 Group shot at the Falls

Finally made it to Yellowstone! We saw one tiny section of Yellowstone so we could go to Cave Falls.

One of the morning of the Fourth, we sent the kids on a treasure hunt. They went all over the place looking for their treasure, but they had a lot of fun doing it! They were so cute helping each other and helping the littlest cousins along the way.

They had to go through the weeds to find their treasure! Once they found it, I think they all thought it was worth it. :) It was full of candy and surprises. We didn't need a parade this year, we had lots of treats!

After our treasure hunt, we went on the tubes down the river. The kids always LOVE it. Eli was crazy..... while we were getting the tubes situated in the river, I told him to wait until Scott got in with him. Well, he decided to take a running jump and flung himself in the river, luckily he landed right in the middle of a tube! He thought it was awesome and I freaked out and Scott had to jump in to grab the tube before he started floating away!

My cute boys on the river!

Three of my cute nieces. They were CRAZY, but had a lot of fun going down 3 to a tube!

On our last day at the cabin, we tie-dyed shirts. The kids had a lot of fun doing them and they turned out really cute! It is definitely a project we will do again sometime.
We had such a fun trip! Our favorite part of the cabin is always how relaxing it is. It is always so much fun, the kids stayed easily entertained, we get to relax, read books, watch movies, play games, and eat way too much good food! It was a great trip and such a fun time for us to spend together as a family. Scott has been super busy and this is the first vacation time he has had since Christmas! Every time we leave the cabin our boys cry and don't want to go, and we are always thinking of when we will be able to come back! Until next time......
